No, I haven’t forgotten about my blog. I’ve been knee-deep in many things: Work has kept me particularly busy getting new demos lined up. These are going to be GREAT demos that show the transitional value of Longhorn. We focus on managed applications that use Whidbey features, and then show incremental improvements as the application matures into the Longhorn timeframe. We’ve heard developers and customers screaming for this, so just sit tight, the demos are coming.
I’ve also been busy working on my conversion of the code from my C# book so that we can have a VB version ready by June. Alex Lowe’s free C# to VB Translator does a pretty darn good job. Alas, I’m paying a price because I ignored an important FxCop rule: Don’t differentiate names in the same class by case only, especially when dealing with properties. Ignoring this rule has easily cost me tens of hours of debugging frustration. I hate it when the younger version of me does things that annoy the older (and theoretically wiser) version of me J.
And to round out my time (when I’m not spending it with my girlfriend), I found a good deal on a pre-loved turquoise Epiphone WildKat guitar J
